Safer Salford is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of Integrated Care and Partnership Working in Patient Safety Award’ at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2021, recognising our outstanding contribution to healthcare.
Following one of the toughest years in the health and social care sector, Safer Salford continues to champion patient safety amidst challenges that the health and social care sector is facing.
The Safer Salford programme is a system-wide, quality improvement focused initiative and is a partnership of health and care organisations committed to working together to improve safety in Salford. In 2015, executive leaders across Greater Manchester came together to use the latest thinking to learn about safety in their local health and care system, looking through the lenses of past, present and future harm. A joint mortality case-note review, using the patient journey to see the whole picture, proved a transformative moment in how individual providers and commissioners viewed safety. Based on these findings, all 6 local health and care partners in Salford committed to the city’s 250,000 residents to deliver safer care through the Safer Salford programme.
Rachel Volland, Safer Salford Programme Manager at Aqua comments:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for Best Use of Integrated Care and Partnership Working in Patient Safety, recognising the collaborative efforts and dedication of our staff members over the last 12 months to successfully implement Safer Salford. We are committed to delivering improved safety for residents and patients across Salford, and to be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement.”
