About Us

Beginning in April 2016, Salford partners; Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, Salford City Council, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Together, Salford Primary Care Together and Haelo, embarked on an ambitious improvement programme to make Salford the safest health and social care system in the UK.

Our work is inspired by the Measuring and Monitoring of Safety Framework, which was successfully brought to life to the Salford health economy during the Making Safety Visible programme.

Safer Salford has three guiding principles:

  • Working together
  • Making sure their work keeps up with the very latest research and thinking in patient safety
  • Using and learning from an improvement approach called Quality Improvement
